Marigaon: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has deployed high level multi-disciplinary central teams in Assam as the state has seen high COVID 19 case loads and high speed of cases.

The Center has deployed teams to assist the state governments by providing technical support to manage and facilitate the COVID-19 outbreak.

An official statement from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Tuesday that the three-member team was composed of two public health experts or epidemiologists or physicians and a senior joint secretary-level administrative handholding officer.

Sources in the ministry said, “These teams are working in the field and visiting health care facilities, so that the state health department needs to implement prevention measures and efficient treatment or clinical management of cases in districts and cities. ”

The ministry said that to ensure better coordination, quick action on the ground, adopting a more granular strategy, it was proposed that these district administrations in the state should regularly keep in touch with the central teams through the state government .

The central team poses some challenges to the Assam government such as testing of hiccups, low testing per one million population, high confirmation rate, high test confirmation rate, risk of capacity loss in the next two months, potential bed shortage, increasing case severity Will help in locating Rate, high doubling rate, sudden spike in active cases, etc.
