At least 95 Assam police personnel have been tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) on Thursday.
Additional Director General of Police, Assam GP Singh said in a tweet that 95 personnel tested Kovid out of which 19 have been recovered. The quarantine has about 1112 employees and all are in good health.
While these border activists turned out to be positive, the total number of persons arrested in connection with the lockdown violation in Guwahati city was 12 on Thursday, while individuals were fined Rs 9,500 for not wearing masks.
Police also detained 23 two-wheelers, 27 four-wheelers, while the fine was Rs 43,000.
In addition, the police have launched four phone numbers where citizens can report lockdown violations via WhatsApp.
