The Barpeta police on August 22nd, 2019, arrested the accused in connection with the sensational case where a jilted lover allegedly stabbed a man to death. The accused allegedly stabbed one Mahidul Islam to death near the Baosi Banikanta Kakati College at Nagaon in Barpeta district of Assam on August 19th, 2019.
As per information available, the girl allegedly attacked Mahidul with a knife. The incident took place under the Tarabari Police Station. The man died while being taken to the Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital, his relatives claimed.
According to the locals, the girl and Mahidul were in a relationship for a very long period of time. Three days back, Mahidul had tied the knot with another girl, which allegedly enraged the accused.
The girl had asked Mohidul to visit her near the college. Locals alleged that the girl came to visit the man with one of her friend. When the friend left, the girl stabbed Mohidul, the locals claimed.
