Mumbai Patients Were Quarantined Separately on Arrival: HBS

GUWALPARA DESK: Assam State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, in a press conference today May 14, said that the patients who came from Mumbai were kept separately on arrival in Guwahati.

All the patients were kept in Radisson Blu Hotel in Guwahati and the hotel staff is taking precautionary measures in handling the patients- using PPE kits.

Further the minister said that the state government was expecting some patients to be positive as there were already positive cases in the Assam Bhawan in Mumbai.

Meanwhile one of the positive patients, a 13-year-old who tested positive among the seven others had heart surgery in Mumbai. Hence, the mother of the patient is being allowed to stay with her at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).

In another instance an attendant has tested positive, although the patient is negative. Further, for the patient we have requested the family members to provide a new attendant (relative) to take care of the patient, said the minister.
