NAGAON DESK: The Ministry of Human Resources and Development (MHRD) and National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) are planning to announce an odd/even system to be adopted by schools post lockdown.

Under this new system, classrooms would be operative but would need to maintain social distancing. Only 50 percent of students enrolled in schools would be allowed to be present on the premises per day in alternate weeks.

The Council has also been creating online live interaction material to be aired via television channels for those who do not have access to good digital infrastructure. The ministry plans to start an additional 12 television channels for Classes 1 to 12.

Final guidelines on reopening of schools are yet to be approved by the MHRD and are still underway.
