The District and Sessions Judge Court, Kamrup (Metro) on June 7th, 2019, while convicting the heartthrob of the young generation singer Zubeen Garg in a 2013 assault and criminal intimidation case, asked the singer to pay Rs 20,000 to the victim and directed to sign a bond of Rs 50,000 on The Probation of Offenders Act
The session court upheld the decision of the Kamrup (Metro) Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM).
The singing sensation has been given relaxation from 3-months imprisonment and was told to pay a fine of Rs 20,000. The court also directed Zubeen Garg to give assurance to not to infringe laws for the next two years.
It may be mentioned that in 2013, Zubeen Garg had allegedly assaulted Ayan Borbora, who is the son of senior advocate Arup Borbora, for smoking in public. Ayan was minor then.
